The Lady of Excellence Scholarship was established to promote academic achievement, encourage young women to pursue higher education, and cultivate a meaningful understanding of what it means to succeed, both in the classroom and beyond. Grounded in the founding principles of Zeta Phi Beta—Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood—the scholarship not only honors the Sorority’s rich legacy but also uplifts the values that shape confident, capable, and compassionate women. By supporting their educational goals and personal growth, the scholarship seeks to empower recipients to realize their full potential and to become leaders who enrich their communities and inspire future generations.
The Lady of Excellence Awards were established to recognize women who exemplify the core principles of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. The founding principles— Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood —should be reflected in every aspect of a honoree’s life, from her personal and professional pursuits to her contributions within the community. Each recipient serves as a source of inspiration, demonstrating through her character, actions, and commitment the profound impact that one woman can make in uplifting others and advancing positive change.
